I stole this from [info]arasan , who asked me the questions. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to make up my own clever name? Or something? Anyway, here goes.

"You too can play along, just write "LIL DEBBIE DOES DALLAS: 2GIRLS1CUPCAKE" in the subject line of your comment and I'll ask you five probing (or not-so-probing) questions. You must then answer these questions in your own LJ, and give your LJ friends the opportunity to be interviewed."

1st-Jan-2009 08:34 am - New Year! Exciting?
calvinlook
I decided to start this new year by looking back and seeing what my New Year's Resolutions were last year, but it seems I didn't actually make a New Year's post last year. How boring of me. Since I'm not beautiful enough to make a video blog, I will list my New Year's Resolutions here in order of most to least srs:

1. Lose 30 pounds by July.
Seriously this time. I don't have a scale at home, but the fact that I couldn't fit into my 34x34 pants was kind of a wake-up call. I came home and weighed myself on my parents' scale and found that I weighed two hundred pounds. That is insane. Wake-up call again. I have never broken the 200 mark, and it's technically overweight for someone of my height. As soon as I get back to Lubbock I'm going to be working out and dieting like mad. I might even quit my job so I can focus more on it during the year, but I might not do that immediately. Losing weight is 'spensive.

2. Make all A's and B's.
I didn't fail anything last semester. That's the first time I've been able to say that in YEARS. However, I did make one C . C's are not acceptable to me. I have resolved to become a better student and make at least all A's and B's this semester. All A's is a good goal to shoot for, but working a job AND trying to lose weight doesn't leave tons of time for study. I'll try to work on it.

3. End the semester under budget.
This conflicts with my "quitting my job" idea, but I honestly never have finished a semester under budget. I always buy some crazy big-ticket item and end up about $300 in the hole. Though losing weight is expensive, I'm hoping it will balance out since I won't be buying pizza and coke all the time. We'll see. =_= I'm not dead-set on this since I want to build a new computer in the summer, but it would be nice to not be getting calls from creditors for once.

And that's it for my major resolutions. There aren't many, but each of them involve many daily decisions not to indulge and to live a life of balance, and that is going to take a lot of discipline. Here's hoping I'm up to it.

Various notes that do not deserve their own paragraphs or transitions:

-I got my ass handed to me in Clue last night, which is how I rang in the New Year. My older sister won three times in a row. I'd say she got lucky--and she did--but she actually isn't bad at it. I, of course, got crappy rolls, horrible cards, and kept getting summoned to rooms I didn't want to be in. Frustration!

-Looking back in my journal, I found this:

(January 22, 2008)
47

I decided to take it again, and got this:

(January 1, 2009)
110

Thank you, Animaniacs.

-My sister has been blasting "Single Ladies" by Beyoncé the entire break, and it is the catchiest song ever. I hate it, but it will not get out of my head unless I loop that Tiny Elephant song from Ash.

-I WANNA PLAY LEFT 4 DEAD WAAAAAA ;_; My parents' computer is too weak to handle it.

-Woah, it's 2009! Kinda just hit me when I was dating that countries quiz up there. I feel like so many possibilities for progress and fun lay ahead of me. This comic sums it up very well:

"You know how when you're born in a certain certain season, you're always called a child of that season? Like "summer child" or "winter child," you know what I'm saying. I bet some of us don't think we're actually the "child" of the season we were born in - I sure don't!

So lay it on me - based on my personality, what season's child ought I be?"
